The Lack Of Constitutional Standing For Interstate Quarantines

By Dr. Julio Gonzalez

You can’t order quarantines forever, and at some point a state of medical emergency becomes a new reality.

In an article last updated yesterday, The Wall Street Journal reported that New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut have instituted a mandate requiring travelers from states they designate as “experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases,” to observe a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

This mandate that took effect on midnight Wednesday carries with it varying consequences for non-compliance.  In New York, a first-time violation merits a fine of $2,000.00 with subsequent violations earning fines of $5,000.  Higher penalties would be enforced if the non-compliance caused harm.  In Connecticut, there will be no fine, and in New Jersey, the quarantine would take the form of an “advisory.”

There’s one overarching problem with these mandated quarantines.  They’re of questionable constitutional legality.

Following our independence from England, our nation stood as an inept giant. Yes, it was young.  It was also financially broke, but perhaps even more importantly a powerless Congress led it.  Under the Articles of Confederation, our first system of government, the states created a very loose alliance of sovereigns, so loose in fact that they were able to impose harsh restrictions upon each other.  Each state could print its own currency, ignore other states’ currencies, and restricted interstate travel and commerce.  Protectionist laws casting advantages to those citizens living within each state at the expense of their fellow countrymen loomed large, and there was nothing Congress could do about it.  Such divisions could never work, and it is for this very reason that the nation’s leaders convened a Constitutional Convention with the aim of preventing the disintegration and fractionalization of the young confederacy.  Protections against limitations in travel and interstate commerce were chief amongst the corrective measures implemented in the new Republic’s founding document.

Clearly, a state restricting an individual to a certain location for a fortnight simply because he or she is from a targeted state acts in a manner repugnant to interstate commerce and individual travel rights.  The Supreme Court was explicit in this regard when it decided Saenz v. Roe, (1999).  Here, the Court ruled that there are constitutionally prescribed travel protections including “the right of a citizen of one State to enter and to leave another State, the right to be treated as a welcome visitor rather than an unfriendly alien when temporarily present in the second state, and for those travelers who elect to become permanent residents, the right to be treated like other citizens of that State.”  Mandatory interstate quarantines violate all three.

It is true that the governments may claim certain latitudes during times of crisis. For example, Congress is given the authority to suspend the privilege of Habeas corpus, “when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require.”  And the states are afforded certain liberties if “actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.”  But these contentions do not apply to a pandemic.

Like The Revolutionary Act on Facebook

President Trump declared a health emergency regarding SARS-CoV-2 on March 11, over 90 days ago.  Since that time, we have been able to establish that there is no imminent exhaustion of our medical supplies.  Despite “surges” in certain states, the nation’s daily new-case rate has flattened. As of this writing, the nation’s daily death rate has not been this low since March 30.  In New York, arguably the state guilty of the nation’s worse COVID-19 mismanagement, there were a mere 742 new cases on June 23, the lowest since March 17, and the daily death rates rival those of March 22.

In the meantime, in Florida, one of those states experiencing a surge, the number of new cases for June 24 was 5,511, but the number of deaths was 45.  And to add to the inconsistency in the data, New York carries a 1,611 death per million rate compared to Florida’s 153, and an active case per million rate of 294,660 compared to Florida’s 84,570.

Adding to the absurdity, Florida presently has a quarantine still in place for visitors from New York similar to the quarantine New York implemented against Floridians on Wednesday, albeit it Florida’s is voluntary one, begging the question just who needs to be protected from whom?

As I explain in my book, Coronalessons, obtrusive interventions such as quarantines, shutdowns, and border closures only work to keep the virus out of a country.  But in America, the virus is already here. In Coronalessons, I also observe the Constitution, miraculous as it may be, is a very fragile document, easily ripped and irreparably destroyed.  The right to freely move from one state to another and engage in interstate commerce is one of the hallmarks of our Constitution. Although it may be appropriate to briefly restrict our interstate travel in the name of safety, morale, health, or welfare, prolonging these restrictions, as we are presently doing, threatens to hurt us much more than it will aid us.

The only real interventions we can take until the development of a vaccine or definitive treatment is for the elderly and the infirm to observe social distancing measures, for all of us to engage in frequent hand-washing, surface sanitation and mask use when in public places.  More aggressive interventions are mere opportunities for governments and people in authority to extend their ambits of power.  It is time for us to end these random and capricious interstate quarantines.

America, The Not Racist

Rod Thomson

Thinking Americans might rightly ask: Why are we so hyper focused on anti-racism right now? Deadly serious. Because the actual evidence is that America, in 2020, is not only the least racist that it has ever been in our history, but it is almost assuredly the least racist nation ever. Yes, ever

It’s actually pretty easy to demonstrate this. The fact that throngs in the streets and online do not know it, see it, or are not willing to listen to it, suggests that none of this is about black lives mattering or anti-racism, in the same way that Antifa is not about opposing fascists.

Without cobbling together a labyrinth of underlying conspiracies, here are the base elements to demonstrate conclusively the lack of racism in America. Perceptions of racism against black Americans are real, but actual racism? Virtually non-existent and getting ever better.

Here we go.

— AMERICA’S STORYLINE. I’ve mentioned this before in a video, but our progress over time, from our founding in 1776 until May 2020 is undeniably one of ever increasing freedoms and equality.

1776 — Freedom from a distant tyrant king, representative government by and for the people. So we moved from being colonies under the heel of an empire to being a free people, with one giant exception.

1865 — End of slavery, freedom for all blacks in the South. This horrifically bloody struggle corrected the exception from 1776 that all the American people were free.

1964 — Equality for blacks under all of the laws, the end of Jim Crow. This was the final step in eradicating the exception issue from 1776. Now every American was required to be treated equally under the law.

2008 — Election of the first black president, and reelection in 2012. With all of the laws fixed, this seemed like the final cultural hurdle — electing a black president. This was the first time in the history of the world that a nation chose for it’s leader someone from a small, once-persecuted minority. This was new in history in so many ways and the opposite of what a systemically racist country would do.

There is simply no way to look at these pinnacles of historic points and not see that the trendline in America has been toward ever increasing equality and ever declining racism — both under the law and culturally.

— SUCCESSES

Where to start? In addition to electing a black president, twice, the United States has had black Supreme Court justices, black U.S. Senators and members of Congress, black governors of states, black mayors of cities and black titans of business.

A black American, Gen. Colin Powell, once headed the world’s most powerful military. Black Americans are among the world’s most famous personalities, and some black Americans have achieved status among the world’s richest people such as billionaire investor Robert F. Smith, and billionaire IT service provider David Steward, billionaire entertainer and author Oprah Winfrey — three of five black American billionaires.

In overall terms of financial success, black Americans lag behind Asian, white and Hispanic Americans, in that order. However, compared to the rest of the world, if all of the earnings and expenditures of black Americans were totalled up, they would rank in the top 20 richest nations on earth, according to black George Mason economist Walter Williams. It’s a funky measurement, because they are a subset of the United States, but it’s worth noting.

According to the 2019 Multicultural Economy Report from the University of Georgia:

“African-American buying power has seen impressive gains since the end of the last economic downturn, jumping from $961 billion in 2010 to an estimated $1.3 trillion in 2018. Since 2000, the African-American market has seen a 114 percent increase in buying power.”

The report attributes this jump to a surge in black-owned businesses, increased education and a growing population. For instance, the percentage of African-Americans who completed college continues to rise, from 17 percent in 2000 to 23 percent in 2017.

Ongoing, systemic, oppressive racism simply could not exist in the same country as all of these successes.

— IMMIGRATION

I wrote about this key point in 2017 in a Revolutionary Act article titled America is Not Racist, According to Millions of Eager African Immigrants. The thrust of the piece was that if we count people voting with their feet, America is pretty welcoming to blacks — rather the opposite of racist.

“…maybe the best measure of where America really stands in the world comes from the choices of black African immigrants. Native Sub-Saharan Africans, by their actions of free movement, seem to have judged that America is not racist — or is perhaps the least racist country in the world offering the greatest opportunities.

“This conclusion stems from one breathtaking fact: America is the most popular immigration destination for Africans. More than European nations, than Asia nations, than South American nations. More than any other country in the world. It’s not even close. Further, America is becoming geometrically more popular with black Africans every decade.”

A New York Times story in 2014 outlined this phenomena as a demographic shift without acknowledging, or maybe even recognizing, the broader implications. Within the story was this astounding number comparison:

“Between 2000 and 2010, the number of legal black African immigrants in the United States about doubled, to around one million. During that single decade, according to the most reliable estimates, more black Africans arrived in this country on their own than were imported directly to North America during the more than three centuries of the slave trade.”

A Washington Post story in 2013 revealed that America was one of the least racist countries in the world when measured by people saying who they would want as neighbors. Americans were more comfortable with neighbors from other races than almost any other country in the world.

The arc of American history continues to bend toward freedom and equality (at least it did until May 2020.) And the stats on American attitudes toward interracial marriages and mixed race neighborhoods, combined with America being the choice of black immigrants from Africa, all add up to there being very strong evidence that America is the least racist country on earth and becoming more so all the time.

Democrats Trump Truth

Generals Attack Trump as Democrats Plead for U.N. Interference

By Cathi Chamberlain

If you think the Democrats have gone off the rails with their newest call to defund the police, you’d be wrong. It’s just the latest step in the left’s long-plotted scheme to transform America to socialism. We are one election away. If we react to this wrongly, we are done as a country of law and order.

Last week, President Trump put out a call to send in the troops. Not the National Guard, the military. As if on cue, the typical “deep state” military brass emerged to condemn him as unstable. Many of you recoiled in agreement. Once again, as if on cue, you believed everything they said. Have you learned nothing over the past four years?

The Washington Post published an article headlined, “How Mattis reached his breaking point — and decided to speak out against Trump”. This was designed to make Americans believe General Mattis is a patriot above all else. His supposed “long” silence, as the article explained, earned him a badge of honor. But, is that really deserved?

To believe Mattis kept silent previously is simply a lie. I wrote about his controversial resignation in my book, Rules for Deplorables: A Primer for Fighting Radical Socialism (RFD). After “Trump announced his decision for a troop withdrawal from Syria, Mattis vehemently and publicly opposed. In his resignation letter [December 2018], Mattis wrote that, ‘[B]ecause you have the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position.” (RFD, pg. 205) Gee, general, thanks for your duty to country.

Mattis knew Trump’s policy well before he joined the President’s team. So, why accept the position in the first place? “The naysayers claim[ed] that as Mattis’ commander, Trump should listen to his generals. Hogwash. Just because a soldier has reached the rank of general, does not make him right on all issues.” (RFD, pg. 207) (For more on how Mattis betrayed his Commander-in-Chief, read my blog from August 31, 2019 entitled, “General Mattis IS the Resistance”.)

Did Mattis fade away into retirement and stoically withhold speaking against his Commander-in-Chief? No. He wrote a book, remember?

Within just six months, in a tell-all no less, he accused the President of being internally divisive especially via his tweeting. “What concerns me most,” Mattis wrote, “is not our external adversaries; [i]t is our internal divisiveness.” In other words, he blamed Trump for all things racist in America. Never mind that Obama stoked racial flames and increased division in our country at every turn.

According to the author of an article entitled, “How Obama Left Us More Racially Divided Than Ever”, one’s opinion of our country is determined by how one views American history. “If you think America is a land of oppression instead of a land of freedom, you will sow social discord. That’s President Obama’s legacy.” I agree. It also explains why we are witnessing such turmoil in our Democrat-controlled cities today. Democrats tend to see the evils in America, Republicans see the good.

With the benefit of hindsight, then, who was right about Syria? The answer may help us understand how best to quell the unrest in our own cities today.

Coronalessons cover

Because of Trump’s pull-out and harsh sanctions against Syria, preventing nearly every country in the world from enabling Assad financially, nearly 80% of his people are now living in abject poverty. Protesters are chanting “[h]e who starves his people is a traitor.” Indeed, Trump’s strategy has not only weakened Assad himself in the region, it has caused massive hardships for his benefactors, our enemies Russia and Iran.

Our President’s policy in Syria could well represent what should become the “Trump Doctrine”; and, it may be remembered as far more effective than anything any general has done during our 18-year war in the Middle East. Will it work here at home?

On June 1, at an impromptu speech in the Rose Garden, Trump threatened to use the Insurrection Act of 1807 to quell the violence in our cities. Shortly after, he made the now-infamous walk to Washington, D.C.’s historic St. John’s Episcopal Church.

General Mattis immediately attacked Trump, accusing the President of trying “to divide us”. He added that, we “are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership”. Wow. That sounds suspiciously like the New York Times’ op-ed letter by “Anonymous” several years ago.

Part of that letter, if you recall, criticized Trump for being immature. “Anonymous” stated that Trump’s “erratic behavior would be more concerning if it weren’t for unsung heroes in…the White House…. [I]n this chaotic era…Americans should know that there are adults in the room….” (RFD, pg. 191). Could the letter have been referring to Mattis as one of the “unsung heroes”? If true, he’s more dangerous than I thought.

Like The Revolutionary Act on Facebook

Mattis has also now said that “[w]e must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.” Hold accountable? Sounds like a set-up for Trump’s arrest once out of office.

The New York Post reports: “Under the Civil War-era Posse Comitatus Act, federal troops are prohibited from performing domestic law enforcement actions such as making arrests, seizing property or searching people. In extreme cases, however, the president can invoke the Insurrection Act, which allows the use of active-duty or National Guard troops for law enforcement.” It sounds as though Trump would be within his right to send in the troops should things get further out-of-control.

Other top brass weighed in this week to criticize Trump, e.g., former secretaries of defense Ash Carter and William Perry. Carter, a Republican, served under Obama. In 2017, he wrote that if soldiers acted like Trump, he would have “fired people”. No love lost there.

Perry, who served under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, criticized Trump in 2017 for his supposed reckless handling of North Korea, saying he was bringing us closer to a nuclear war. I guess he was wrong.

Former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey, Mike Mullen, and Richard Myers have piled on, too. Dempsey, another Obama loyalist, railed against Trump in 2017 for the President’s plans to pardon some of our military’s finest warriors. Most had been convicted of war crimes while balancing trying to save fellow soldiers against impossible rules of engagement imposed by Obama. Dempsey called Trump’s pardons a “Bad message. Bad precedent. Abdication of moral responsibility. Risk to us.” Soldiers be damned. Trump did it anyway.

Mike Mullen served under George W. Bush and Obama. In 2017, he condemned Trump’s “talk of ‘fire and fury’” as bad diplomacy with our adversaries.

Richard Myers now says he’s “glad” he didn’t have to work for Trump. I’m sure the feeling is mutual.

Other prominent voices condemning Trump this past week have come from Mitt Romney, Colin Powell, Lisa Murkowski, and John McCain’s widow. Like those mentioned above, all have one thing in common: hatred for Donald J. Trump. That should tell us all everything we need to know.

The most revealing comment about Trump’s threat to use the military to retake our cities, though, came from former U.S. Forces-Afghanistan commander Gen. John Allen. He said that, “The slide of the United States into illiberalism may well have begun on June 1, 2020. Remember the date. It may well signal the beginning of the end of the American experiment.” Did you catch that? Trump’s handling of the violent protests, to him, demonstrates an anti-liberal intention.

Indeed, every one of these anti-Trumpers is known for the same globalist leanings as shared by liberals. Thus, whether they call themselves Republicans, Independents, or Democrats, their ideologies gel. That commonality has hijacked the killing of George Floyd in a very dangerous way.

On June 3, the Floyd family sent a letter to the United Nations pleading for intervention. “When a group of people of any nation have been systematically deprived of their universal human right to life by its government for decades, it must appeal to the international community for its support and to the United Nations for its intervention,” Floyd’s family attorney Ben Crump said in a press release. This, my fellow Americans, is what all the hoopla is about. And if you think it is not orchestrated by leftist Democrats — and not the Floyd family — you have not been paying attention.

The generals, the Democrats, the Republican elitists, the Democrat Socialists, and the “deep state” are working together towards one common goal and President Trump knows it: a One World Government or New World Order. Defunding the police is a priority.

In their letter, the Floyd family asked the UN “for its help in disarming police officers in the United States of America.” The left is driving the players to reach that very outcome. Could that be why the generals are so vehemently against Trump calling up the military? And, whose side would the military take, the generals or Trump’s?

In Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, written in the 70s, he describes thirteen tactics for the left to use in transforming America to socialism. Tactic #10, “the major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure on the opposition”, is upon us. The formation of Antifa and Black Lives Matter began years ago. I warned about them in my book. The attempted coup of Trump’s Administration, the impeachment investigations, the over-exaggerated shut-downs based on phony models, and now the attacks by the generals were all timed to culminate in a complete destruction of the American free-market system. If Venezuela is any example, the transformation could be quick.

It’s no accident that the cities hit hardest by the pandemic, riots, looting and calls for defunding police are all controlled by Democrats. Everything happening now is a three-fold gain. The citizens want free stuff. The Democrat leaders of these cities and states are goading Trump hoping he’ll be blamed for the chaos and lose the election. He cannot fall for that. But, for the top brass and leaders of the country, the goal is on a much grander scale.

President Trump knows this. If you refuse to believe Democrats would sell out their own people, congratulations. You’re playing right into their hands. Alinsky instructs his followers to win by any means necessary. Ethics be damned.

If our President understands Alinsky tactics the way I believe he does, he already has his strategy by using the left’s tactics against them. And, his threat to send in the military will be his last and final move. Before that, however, he has plenty of less risky options available. Among them are Alinsky’s tactics #4 and #11. It’s the only way to win this battle and I believe he knows it.

First, he must allow the blue states to completely fail. Yes, even if it means allowing them to defund their police.

Tactic #4 means to “make the enemy live up to their own book of rules”. Democrats claim to loathe the police? Let them live without order for a while. Why interfere? It’s a state’s right to self-determination. Let ‘em have it. The citizens will eventually beg their leaders to intervene. But, it will be too late.

Blue cities were imploding from poor management even before the pandemic. Now, they’re on life-support. Crime is already increasing. Many will be injured or killed, there’s no escaping that. The chaos will continue until the citizenry rise up and take their cities and states back. Once they themselves are chanting “he who starves his people is a traitor”, they will turn to Trump for help in getting federal bailouts. But, he must refuse, unless concessions are made.

During the 60s, a couple of sociology professors from Columbia University wrote a series of strategy papers designed to implode the American free-market system. Richard Cloward and Francis Fox Piven (Cloward-Piven) believed that if they could bloat our welfare systems with enrollees, eventually it would go broke. Once that happened, the federal government would have to step in and save the program by infusing it with taxpayer money. Their plan was to continue the strategy until America became a 100% Socialist-controlled country. They never dreamed either political party would join their scheme. Imagine their surprise when the Democrats did, in exchange for votes by giving away “free” stuff. (RFD, pg. 26)

The plan worked so well that by the mid-70s New York City, Democrat-controlled for years, was nearly bankrupt. The Mayor begged then-President Ford to bail them out. At first he refused saying they got themselves into that mess, they could get themselves out. That was the right decision, painful though it may have been. Unfortunately, it was an election year, much like now. Under severe pressure from weak Republicans and Democrats alike, Ford caved. New York City hasn’t learned its lesson to this day. (RFD, pg. 27). The left and Democrats have been partners ever since.

Things are about to get really ugly. Especially if the Governors call in the United Nations. That’s when the real showdown will begin. But, it’s the only way our country can survive what’s coming.

Trump should use Alinsky Tactic #11 against Democrats. By “pushing a negative hard enough, it will break through to a positive”. The chaos caused by Democrats should, hopefully, convince the residents to realize the consequences of out-of-control progressive policies. Trump must require the banning of sanctuary cities that rape a city’s resources dry. No more talk about abolishing the police or I.C.E. Wild spending would have to be under control. Pensions would need overhauls. Voting oversight must be put in place. Illegal immigrants should be deported and not allowed I.D. cards. Hopefully, then, citizens will come to understand the luxuries of the freedoms we have via the law and order our systems provide. And, if they don’t, let them eat cake!

Yes, we have a long road ahead to regain control of our cities and states. But, the alternative is unimaginable.

The Progressives have been working their “Plan” for years, while so many Americans have been asleep. Others of us have been warning for decades that this day was coming. Many have called us conspiracy nuts. We’ve been ridiculed. We’ve been silenced. And we’ve been isolated. No more.

There isn’t time for that now. We must unify against the greatest threat we’ve faced since the Civil War. We still have a chance to save this great country of ours. Otherwise, we can stand idly by while watching America burn to the ground. I won’t give up … not so long as we have a President fighting for us every day.

Amazon Reverses Censorship Of Coronavirus Book After Rubio Intervention

Rod Thomson

Under questioning from U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s office, Amazon today reversed its decision of two days ago to censor a Florida surgeon’s just-published book on lessons learned from the COVID-19 outbreak and public officials handling of it.

“I’m very grateful to Sen. Rubio for intervening on my behalf, and impressed that he took such an aggressive position defending the ability of someone to express a political opinion. His staff was invaluable in getting to the bottom of this,” said Dr. Julio Gonzalez, author of Coronalessons

He went on: “But I really think it’s preposterous. It’s definitely a manipulation by Amazon of the types of messages that people get to hear and I don’t think an author should need an Elon Musk or high-ranking political official to deliver a political viewpoint.”

Dr. Gonzalez said he reached out to Sen. Rubio and the Senator’s legal office contacted Amazon’s legal office to determine the grounds for the censorship. The reason provided in a note from Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing subsidiary to Dr. Gonzalez explained the censorship rationale.

But Rubio’s legal people determined that Amazon’s written guidelines actually make no mention of COVID-19 or the coronavirus and so the giant online retailer had no grounds for banning his book. It did not violate their guidelines. Amazon apparently relented on that point and have since unbanned it and Coronalessons is now live on Amazon.

This reversal comes just days after Amazon censored former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson’s booklet titled Unreported Truths about COVID-19 and Lockdowns: Part 1: Introduction and Death Counts and Estimates. That piece of censorship was undone after Elon Musk’s public involvement on Twitter.

If not for the interventions of Rubio and Musk, Gonzalez’s and Berenson’s books may still be banned on Amazon. It is unknown how many other books Amazon may have banned for having either politically incorrect or non-government sanctioned views.

While Berenson’s is a short booklet, Dr. Julio Gonzalez’s book titled Coronalessons, is an exhaustively researched look at everything from virology and epidemiology to spread and treatments to crippling lockdowns and violations of Americans’ Constitutional rights. It has nearly 700 citations and a detailed timeline. It’s criticisms are deeply researched.

Like The Revolutionary Act on Facebook

Dr. Gonzalez is not new to authorship or to politics. In addition to running a successful surgical practice in Venice, Florida, he is an attorney and a former member of the Florida House of Representatives. He’s also the author of The Case for Free Market Healthcare and The Federalist Pages.

“This is the first comprehensive look at our nation’s coronavirus experience,” Dr.  Gonzalez said. “I have been furiously studying the pandemic, amassing data, and evaluating our responses and the effects these have had on our society and our system of laws. I compiled all that information, including a novel statistical analysis and over 650 citations into Coronalessons.”

It is not as though Amazon doesn’t sell books on controversial topics, or shy away from controversy. They’ve sold books on pedophilia.

But when it comes to COVID-19, Amazon may have a vested interest as the company has financially benefited greatly from the lockdowns that many people like Dr. Gonzalez and Berenson are criticizing in their books. By the government forcing people to stay home, Amazon’s home delivery and streaming service have been profiting in overdrive. They would have an incentive to quiet voices suggesting the lockdowns are a bad idea.

But this is a dangerous track for Amazon. The Revolutionary Act is aware of members of the  U.S. House and U.S. Senate who are concerned about Amazon’s actions banning certain books. If a close look suggests that Amazon may have reached monopoly status on book sales, that could be problematic.

Amazon’s share of all new book purchases was 41 percent before the shutdowns, but 65 percent of all new online books — both print and digital. In the e-book market, they dominated with 67 percent.

White Privilege? Looks More Like Asian Privilege…And Hispanic

Rod Thomson

Undergirding the rioting and burning of American cities is the concept of white privilege, which apparently is so insidious that most white people don’t recognize they have, but has been responsible for trampling black people up to this moment. The so-called and unsupportable “systemic racism” case relies on a white privilege foundation so that white people who do not feel racist or commit racist acts must nonetheless relent to being part of the problem keeping black people down.

So the question to be put is: Is there white privilege? Or is there choice privilege? Stay with me on this, because it’s awesomely easy.

It indeed looks like white privilege on the surface, considering disparities from income and wealth to education and incarceration. Anyone can see that much. But is that the whole story or are there underlying factors that drive the differences because of individual choices that are cumulative in groups of people?

Without going into the underlying choices involved in each category, all of which is spelled out in the statistics, I’ll jump to what seems like the obvious death knell of this postmodernist theory of white privilege: Asians.

In every measurable category, Asians do better than whites. Income, education, crime rate. Asians outperform whites across the board. By dint of the argument for white privilege, then there must be even more Asian privilege than white privilege. That would be news to the descendants of Chinese immigrants who were virtual slave laborers building railroads in the 19th century, or Japanese Americans rounded up and interned for the duration of WWII — two groups that now exceed whites in America.

But the proponents of white privilege — white and black progressives — refuse to even respond to this.

So let’s go further. Hispanics outperform blacks in those categories. Not by as much, but statistically significant still. So is there Hispanic privilege compared to blacks? That sounds sort of absurd. And finally, blacks who immigrated here in recent years do better than blacks who have lived here for generations. In all the categories. New blacks privilege? It starts to sound nonsensical, because at root it is.

In all these groups, different choices are made by members of the groups. If you look at Asians, the marriage rate is higher (choice,) family strength is stronger (choice,) the graduation rate is higher (choice,) and crime rate is lower (choice.)

I’ll give one fundamental statistic from the U.S. Department of Education: In 2016, the percentage of children living with married parents was highest for Asian children (84 percent), followed by white children (73 percent); then Hispanic children (57 percent each); and finally for black children (33 percent). Blacks who immigrated here in recent years also have higher family cohesiveness. This statistic alone tracks directly with outcomes in the above areas used to support white privilege.

But nobody, and I mean nobody, is willing to have this conversation about root causes. Instead, somehow, people jump to blaming cops and burning down cities, to reparations and kneeling, to tearing down the country.

I get it, slavery and Jim Crow. But we’re 165 years removed from slavery and generations from Jim Crow, allowing time for good choices to take hold. And some have. Dr. Ben Carson. Thomas Sowell. Sen. Tim Scott. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Former President Barack Obama. They and thousands of others from impoverished broken homes have made different choices and changed the cycle. Because of that Maya and Sasha Obama will have enormous privileges. More than virtually every white person.

But again, no one wants that conversation.

It seems to me that if you created a privilege ladder based on the way the white privilege purveyors measure such privilege, it would go:

  • Asians
  • Whites
  • Hispanics
  • Blacks

But the choice privilege ladder would also look the exact same. Doesn’t it seem obvious which privilege really drives outcomes?

Amazon Censors Another Non Government-Sanctioned Coronavirus Book

Rod Thomson

Continuing its heavy-handed tactics of blocking non-government information on the coronavirus, Amazon has now censored a Florida surgeon’s just-published book on lessons learned from the COVID-19 outbreak and public officials handling of it.

This comes just five days after Amazon censored former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson’s booklet titled Unreported Truths about COVID-19 and Lockdowns: Part 1: Introduction and Death Counts and Estimates. If not for Elon Musk’s involvement, Berenson’s book may still be banned on Amazon.

But while Berenson published a short booklet, Dr.

Dr. Gonzalez is hardly a neophyte. In addition to running a surgical practice in Venice, Florida, he is an attorney and a former member of the Florida House of Representatives. He’s also the author of The Case for Free Market Healthcare and The Federalist Pages.

But Amazon said his most recent book “does not comply with our guidelines,” which it says is to follow official government sources, such as the CDC and WHO — both of which have been phenomenally incompetent on the virus. Amazon then went on to blather about the changing information about COVID-19 (which sort of undermines their own case) and suggests removing references to the virus — in a book about the virus!

“This is the second time in two weeks that we learn of Amazon openly suppressing an alternative voice on the issue of COVID-19 and on China’s behavior regarding the pandemic,” Dr. Gonzalez said. “One has to wonder whether Amazon has any interest in promoting the free exchange of ideas.”

Amazon has sold books on controversial topics from politics to religion to race and gender and pedophilia. It’s not like they shy away from controversy. So maybe now is a good time to note that Amazon has financially benefited greatly from the lockdowns that many people like Dr. Gonzalez and Berenson have criticized. By the government forcing people to stay home, Amazon’s home delivery and streaming service have been operating in overdrive.

But these are dangerous moves for Amazon. The trend may also start raising the attention of members of Congress on whether Amazon should be considered a monopoly. Apparently at least one influential member of Congress is quite upset with Dr. Gonzalez’s book being censored, as many were with Berenson’s.

Despite Riots, Democrats Continue Masking To Topple Trump

By Cathi Chamberlain

Let’s not forget during the current wave of riots and looting that Democrat states are still mostly shut down and they are trying to convince Americans that we are killing fellow countrymen by not wearing face masks to stop the spread of the pandemic. Yes, the Wuhan virus can be deadly. No question many people have died from it. Absolutely there are precautions we should all be taking. But, is the real motive something more than saving lives?

If you’ve been paying attention to what’s been happening over the past four years, you know we’ve been lied to repeatedly. Not simple little white lies. Astronomically devious, evil lies meant to destroy the very fabric of our freedom-loving country. You wouldn’t know that, however, if you’ve been listening to the “fake news” media. That’s the same media from which you say you just want to get a “second opinion.”

Within weeks of President Trump’s inauguration, some of his most loyal servants were systematically and successfully taken down, one by one. DOJ Director Jeff Sessions bowed to demands for his recusal. General Mike Flynn’s stellar 33-year military career and his life were destroyed based on planted evidence that we now know never existed. American Patriot Carter Page was spied on and his life pretty well ruined. George Papadopoulos was jailed for a crime not even associated with the Russia witch-hunt. Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Cohen and so many others were targeted and destroyed. All because they supported President Donald J. Trump.

The left told you the Trump-Russia collusion investigation was based on “evidence”. LIARS.

Democrats tried to convince you that Brett Kavanaugh was a sexual deviant. LIARS.

They said Trump was guilty of bribery in his Ukraine phone call. LIARS.

Democrats said he was targeted for accusations worthy of impeachment. LIARS.

The abundance of lies was there for all to see. Instead, many preferred to listen to the “fake news” media so they could get a “second opinion.” As though liars matter.

Due to that enabling of the anti-Trump media who’ve made no secret of their bias against our President, the lies have perpetuated. No longer are we a nation built on common sense.

When all else failed, the left found yet another “crisis” they didn’t want to go to waste, the Wuhan virus.

America’s initial, fanatically-fearful response to the pandemic was understandable given the very rational concept of “flattening the curve.” Even that, if you think about it, can be blamed on our own pathetic lack of preparedness. Our PPE stockpiles were low, a shortage of ventilators was worrisome, hospitals were too few and ill-equipped, testing by the CDC was an abject failure. In short, we were staring down a double-barreled catastrophe if we didn’t act quickly and decisively. There was simply no time to waste arguing about what had to be done: a total shutdown of our economy combined with self-isolation, stringent regulations, and masks on all.

We complied without asking questions because it made sense. We saw a dizzying array of models that scared the crap out of us. The number of deaths, projected to be 2.2 million, was unfathomable. Transmission of the virus was frighteningly easy, we were told. Imminent, they said, unless we followed their strict orders. Stay six feet away. Three aisles over.  Scrub our clothing. Wipe down goods. No masks necessary, at first. Then masks were required on everyone. We lived in total fear. And that made us easy to control.

Like The Revolutionary Act on Facebook

Then a rather peculiar thing happened. Trump and the American people began seeing some serious flaws in the advice of the “experts.” The models turned out to be grossly inaccurate, not even close to the actual numbers. Recommendations by the fed’s scientific community changed almost daily. Rumors that those “experts” were controlled by anti-Trump leftists became believable as many of us googled for truth. Could they simply be trying to take Trump down, again?

To be honest about the pandemic we must assess real numbers, not models skewed by leftists with an agenda. After all, these numbers are guiding life-altering decisions about whether or not to shut down our economy, right?

Lindsey Graham seems to think so. Or at least that’s what he said recently in response to the WHO’s disastrous handling of the pandemic. As a Republican who sits on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Graham’s influence matters.

Recently, he left no doubt as to who he thought should be running things at the W.H.O. “I have a lot of respect for Bill Gates and his work in the public health arena,” he said. “The Gates Foundation, under Bill and Melinda’s leadership, has a reputation for investing in programs which are well-run and produce results.” Seriously, Lindsey?

As stated in my recent article entitled, “Same Globalists Who Bungled Pandemic Pushing to Control the World”, the prediction models insisted upon by Drs. Fauci and Birx were way off. They were based on data from the IMHE (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation) and Imperial College of London. That article is a must read to understand who is involved in corruption around the handling of this pandemic. And, somebody might want to tell Lindsey that the Gates Foundation “recently provided massive amounts of funding to both” of the companies behind the models. In fact, he founded the IHME. Was that purely by chance?

Isn’t it rather coincidental that both Gates-funded models caused massive shutdowns worldwide due to erroneous results? Whether it was by gross negligence or intentionally misinforming, choosing Bill Gates as the new head of the CDC would be an unmitigated disaster.

Gates has also advocated heavily against hydroxychloroquine and for keeping the world shut down until there’s a vaccine. That’s not surprising given his funding of a global vaccination program to be disseminated in conjunction with his ID2020 Alliance program designed to track every citizen’s movement at all times. The consequences of a WHO led by Bill Gates is especially worrisome considering his far-from stellar record on global vaccines.

The widely-wrong Gates’ models are all the more suspect after reading an article that appeared in Forbes recently. If true, it throws doubt on the entire numbers game attributed to the pandemic.

Entitled, “The Most Important Coronavirus Statistic: 42% Of U.S. Deaths Are From 0.6% Of The Population,” the author claims that nearly half of all deaths from the pandemic in America occurred because of bad state-wide decisions. He says nursing home and residential care facility policies are to blame. If right, that changes everything.

According to the author, he and a Public Policy Professional/Health Care Policy Expert at The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity conducted a study to determine how many deaths were caused by faulty decision-making. They reveal their calculations in an online spreadsheet that’s easy to read. Based on nearly criminal directives from the governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, among others, the high rate of deaths due to the Wuhan virus could have been avoided.

Having just surpassed 100,000 deaths in America, the study is worth reviewing. The authors claim that 42% of the total deaths in America by the Wuhan virus can be attributed to wrong-headed decisions regarding long-term care facilities. Specifically, those governors ordered nursing homes to admit COVID patients into their facilities. Had better precautions been taken, the real number of COVID deaths would reflect about 58,000. That’s more in line with a bad case of flu!

“An estimated 80,000 Americans died of flu and its complications” from 2017-2018, according to the CDC. It’s hard to imagine such a high number that so few of us paid attention to at the time. But, we barely noticed. Nor was there ever mention of shutting our country down.

From 1957-1958, the Asian flu killed “1.1 million worldwide and 116,000 in the United States.” But, according to one eye witness account, America didn’t shut down. The National Football League played on and the economy continued to function. “As Rhode Island doctor and author Andrew Bostom notes, the federal Centers for Disease Control now say that the infection fatality ratio of COVID-19 is 0.27 percent, almost equal to the 0.26 percent of the 1957-1958 Asian flu.”

During the 1968 Hong Kong flu, the “estimated number of deaths was 1 million worldwide and about 100,000 in the United States. Most excess deaths were in people 65 years and older.” Still, as the New York Post reports: “schools were not shut down. Face masks weren’t required or even common. Though Woodstock was not held during the peak months of the H3N2 pandemic (the first wave ended by early March 1969, and it didn’t flare up again until November of that year), the festival went ahead when the virus was still active and had no known cure.

“Life continued as normal,” said Jeffrey Tucker, the editorial director for the American Institute for Economic Research. “But as with now, no one knew for certain how deadly [the pandemic] would turn out to be. Regardless, people went on with their lives.”

As more people come to understand the truth about the Wuhan virus, a rush to reopen states will be inevitable. We are already, thankfully, seeing that. But, there is one big obstacle: the Democratic Party. Only Republican states seem willing to get our country back on track. States governed by the Democrats are pushing back, creating fear about a second wave. We must wait for a vaccine, they warn. Even if it means a total destruction of our economy. Are they even credible anymore?

While every American should want what’s best for our country, the truth is that a recovery will undoubtedly benefit Trump to Biden’s detriment. After all attempts to topple the President over the past three years have failed, could the Democrats stoop so low to purposely damage the economy as a final attempt to take him out? You bet they could, and already are.

According to the left’s idol and father of community organizing Saul Alinsky, their goal must be achieved by any means necessary. We should take them at their word.

In his 70s blockbuster book Rules for Radicals, Alinsky outlines thirteen tactics to be used by the left to achieve their goals. I break them down in my book, Rules for Deplorables: A Primer for Fighting Radical Socialism. Tactic #6, “a good tactic is one your people enjoy,” has come into play recently with some pretty wacky rules to which Democrat leaders have subjected their citizens.

In California, for example, officials “closed a popular skate park and filled it with 37 tons of sand in hopes of keeping residents away.” I know how liberals think, I used to be one. I’m sure they sat in their cushy offices thinking this was a wily, hilarious way to control their citizens. It backfired, thankfully, when kids began using it to ride their dirt bikes. Way to fight back using Alinsky’s Tactic #12, “the price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Kudos to those who refused to be controlled by politically-motivated leaders.

Think about this: AA meetings cannot convene but liquor stores are allowed to remain open.

What logic closes churches but leaves abortion clinics operating? Why can people run along beaches but can’t sunbathe or surf? Or Mom and Pop shops selling everyday needs have to close while Walmart can stay open? How come a family of four must stay isolated in their home but can’t go out boating together? There comes a time that we must stand up and say enough, this is nonsense.

How is it that a decision-making health administrator from Pennsylvania can move her 95-year-old mother from a nursing home while ordering everyone else’s elderly relatives to stay put? Or, the husband of the governor of Michigan can request special treatment to launch his boat while everyone else must stay out of the water? What about the “fake news” media reporter chastising passersby for not wearing masks as a bystander points out the cameraman isn’t wearing one himself?

We have been “masked” into submission, America. And, it’s being politicized. From the facts slowly emerging, it’s becoming questionable whether masks even help. In checking the CDC’s website, they’re instructing this: “If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask).” Are you confused yet?

I’ve seen enough. Yes, I’ll continue to carry my mask should a need arise. But, I’ll be using my own judgment going forward. Those who feel wearing one is needed based on their own health concerns should continue to do so without mask-shaming. But for Democrats who think getting Trump out of office is more important than salvaging what’s left of our economy, I have a message for you: you will fail yet again.

Our country will reopen soon because the left has forgotten one of Alinsky’s most important tactics, #7: “a tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Americans do not stay still for long and never admit defeat.

When that happens, we will remember the stark contrast between Trump and Biden in dealing with this disaster. Leadership differences between the two men have been laid bare and will reflect decisive voting in November.

We will wake up to the left’s games and revolt by reopening our states en masse. When we do, red states will be standing strong, and those blue states wanting bailouts will be left in shambles.

The Four Communist Machines Behind The Floyd Protests

Rod Thomson

Antifa has been identified as the primary driver of the violent riots engulfing American cities. But there is a critical second arm of this unholy alliance that has been around longer and has deep roots, along with possible foreign connections. Communists.

It shouldn’t be shocking. Communists domestic and foreign have been trying to undermine and destroy America for many generations. And we’ve seen a disturbing rise in American public support for Socialism and Communism. That support translates into resources and manpower on the ground and it is being put to use.

And yet the Communist element in the riots is getting virtually no media coverage. They’re not as outfront as Antifa and Black Lives Matters, but their role may be as big — and longer lasting. Because while Antifa and BLM may fade, apparently we’ll always have Communists in our midst — at least as long as we have universities infiltrated the way they are.

But they’re not hiding the ball. They weave their Marxist-Socialist agenda in with racial tensions to fan the flames, create chaos and destabilize. We’re seeing them do this in cities across the country, and in smaller cities where there is no violence but the Communists still play on the racial tensions.

Let’s start where this started, in the Twin Cities, where the largest Communist organization has a solid foothold. The Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) in Minneapolis has been supporting the rioters with resources and organization while participating in the “protests.” They use the classic Marxist language, tweeting “support the ongoing mass working-class uprising!” and later tweeting: “For all community members, fuel up to fight the fascists & police state today, join us @ Lake & 30th Ave for free hot meals & groceries! Justice & nutrition for the frontlines.”

See how they conflate the two. Here’s their official statement:

“Racist police violence is not incidental to the capitalist system, it is necessary to maintain its operation. We recognize that as we fight for a better world, it will be the police who threaten our protests, the police who will break up our picket lines, the police who selectively wield their monopoly on violence against Black people and working-class people to protect those with power and privilege.”

Like The Revolutionary Act on Facebook

DSA is known to be involved in rioting in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle and Memphis. It’s highly likely they are in other cities also.

But they are only one Communist group.

The Workers World Party (WWP) is also in several cities as part of the chaos. The WWP openly supports China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea and Iran  — essentially anyone that is an enemy of the United States. The Stalinist group has active chapters in 15 cities. WWP leader Monica Moorehead wrote May 28 an article with the headline, “Against police violence and capitalism, to rebel is justified:”

“Workers World salutes all the brave protesters in Minneapolis, currently ground zero against police terror. We also salute those activists in Los Angeles, Memphis and other cities who are organizing protests and braving the pandemic to be in the streets or in car caravans to show solidarity with the demand: Justice for George Floyd and all victims of police violence.”

The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) has organized protests in smaller cities around the U.S., including Columbia, S.C., Sarasota, Fla., Ashland, N.C., Richland, Wash. as well as San Antonio, Texas and several in the Los Angeles region. In a statement on its website May 26, the PSL said it cannot rely on the FBI for justice in the Floyd case: “The FBI is a violent state institution that has been wielded as a weapon against the liberation movement of black people in the United States.”

Interestingly, the PLS website does not have an About page, so they don’t spell out the radical revolutionary ideology, although the content of their site certainly does. They lament the Soviet Union is no more, celebrate the Chinese Communist revolution and mourn the death of Castro.

According to Wikipedia: “The Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) is a communist party in the United States established in 2004 after a split in the Workers World Party (WWP).”

More from Wiki: “The party’s goal is to lead a revolution paving the way towards socialism, under which a ‘new government of working people’ would be formed.”

And finally, there is the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), a self-identified Maoist Communist organization, is calling for “a movement for an actual revolution” on the coattails of the Floyd murder and is participating in riots. This group published a statement titled “To YOU who are sick and tired of the madness, and ready to be part of a movement for an ACTUAL REVOLUTION:

“If you’re sick of watching video after video of these murders by police… you need to join with a movement for an actual revolution, to prepare for a time when it will be possible to lead millions to bring this system down, and replace it with a new society based on the Constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America.”

The RCP wraps itself in leftist causes with coalition groups such as the Stop Patriarchy, October 22 Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Stop Mass Incarceration Network and Refuse Fascism. Again, they conflate racial tensions with class warfare to leverage more chaos.

These four groups have long histories and are as radical as Antifa. They are not getting the headlines because Antifa is more blatantly violent. But they revel in the violence and burning cities and will continue to sew unrest and turmoil to overthrow America.

Launching An Economic Cold War With China

Rod Thomson

The time for civil behavior regarding Communist China is past. An Economic Cold War is required or someday, a terrible hot war will be. And such an Economic Cold War is both doable and winnable. But not cost-free.

First, before getting to how we fire the first salvo in such a Cold War, we have to briefly document what a dangerous government runs China. It is now well-known around the globe (if not to the Chinese people) that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is directly and completely responsible for loosing COVID-19 on the world.

The CCP in Wuhan and Beijing covered up and lied, with the support of the World Health Organization, for a month after determining that this new coronavirus spread between humans, allowing about five million people from Wuhan and Hubei Province to travel around the world, including direct flights from Wuhan to the United States and Europe. The Chinese Communists also ordered the destruction of evidence, including early samples and research, “disappeared” doctors who were trying to alert the world to the new danger, expelled journalists, blocked the CDC from visiting and helping, lied to the World Health Organization and imprisoned “rumor-mongers” trying to blow the whistle on the epidemic. To this day, the CCP continues to lie about the number of infections and deaths; by some estimates, as many as a million Chinese have died from COVID-19.

Epidemiologists now believe that if Wuhan had been isolated just three to four weeks earlier and the world knew to enact travel restrictions and quarantines, the virus likely would have been contained to a sharp but local outbreak in Hubei Province. And none of the rest of the world would be threatened as it is today. Hundreds of thousands would not have died from it. Perhaps millions would not have died from the ill-conceived total shutdowns of western economies, largely the U.S., that feed subsistence level people in Third-World countries. In fact, the shutdown was predicated on bad models with corrupted information from China.

None of it would have happened if it were not for a venal, brutal dictatorship in Beijing.

All of these deaths are not on President Trump or Gov. Andrew Cuomo or Italy (which had direct flights from Wuhan to Northern Italy). They are on Communist China.

But this is just the final nail in the coffin of the failed policy — which I was warm to early on — that China could be wooed into the fraternity of civilized nations through increased economic integration and more open trade. Many conservative thought leaders who once subscribed to this concept, such as William McGurn, Bill Bennett, Hugh Hewitt and many others — now recognize it largely failed and that a sea change is needed. It’s not clear where liberal/progressive thought leaders are on this because their entire intellectual processes are consumed with removing Trump from the White House.

Like us on FACEBOOK

Communist China may be the biggest threat to its own people, as one of the worst human rights violators on the planet. They have shipped more than a million Uyghurs to concentration camps for the crime of being Muslims. The Uyghur men are separated from the women, including husbands and wives, with the goal of essentially eliminating the ethnic minority in a generation by being unable to procreate, except those Uyghur women who are given to Chinese Communist Party members.

The Chinese Communists also imprison Christians, other Muslims, Hindus, journalists, and literally — by law — anyone who says something critical of the Communist regime. This is a terrible, repressive government.

And a terrible neighbor. China has illegally built islands in the South China Sea and fortified them militarily with air bases and army units. They have turned loans to impoverished or foolish countries into blackmail projects through their Belt and Road project, economically subjugating some Third World nations to gain access to their resources and ports.

And right now, China is using the cover of the COVID-19 pandemic to crackdown on Hong Kong and eliminate the citizens’ rights it agreed to retain when England returned the prosperous island city to China. Hong Kong freedoms are going to be erased, as will many Chinese in Hong Kong.

Communist China has stolen U.S. military technology, interfered with elections, infiltrated high-ranking American officials such as U.S. Sen. Diane Feinstein, a California Democrat. They have hacked the U.S. government and major American corporations. They have cheated on trade agreements and blackmailed U.S. companies. And they enable the unthinkably brutal and dangerous North Korean regime.

They are building a strong navy and air force to go with their giant army, often using pilfered technology from the U.S. and occasionally Europe.

China’s ambitions are for world domination, and there is no other way to read it. They are playing the long game and have played the United States from Nixon to Obama. We need a President with the backing of Congress who will stand up to China before it is too late. And that means now.

That sure isn’t Joe Biden, whose son Hunter was given more than a billion dollars by the Chinese Communists for his “investment” fund after flying in with his then Vice President father on Air Force Two.

According to the New York Post: “In 2013, then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden flew aboard Air Force Two to China. Less than two weeks later, Hunter Biden’s firm inked a $1 billion private equity deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. The deal was later expanded to $1.5 billion. In short, the Chinese government funded a business that it co-owned along with the son of a sitting vice president.”

That was the first of a couple of rounds of investments in Hunter Biden’s firm that greatly enriched him and could well be part of the reason that Joe Biden is so soft on the Chinese Communists. That, and being perennially wrong on foreign affairs.

If China is the true existential threat to the United States as we know it, then Joe Biden is the exact wrong person in the White House to be dealing with them.

This has to end and it seems to me there is only one person willing to stand up to the Communist thugs in Beijing — the only President in two generations that has.

Firing the first salvo in the Economic Cold War

The Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party are one and the same. And that means that nations such as the United States can sue the CCP without running into sovereign immunity protections that apply to governments but not organizations or companies. Missouri already has already done so. Nations suing other nations, national governments suing other national governments, is a go-nowhere prospect because of sovereign immunity. But suing individuals, companies and organizations is an accepted practice.

The lawsuits would be for economic damages due to the CCP’s mischief in covering up the dangers of the new virus. A German newspaper has estimated that the Chinese government owes Germany about $155 billion for damages due to their malfeasance.

So lawsuits could be brought against the CCP by the United States or by individual states in federal court. If the courts rule in favor of Missouri or other states, or the federal government if it launched a lawsuit, collection is not as hopeless as it sounds because China has huge investments in the U.S. That’s a legal point of leverage. A court or even the federal government could put a freeze on certain investments, as we have done with Iran and others, which of course would invite China to retaliate against American investments there. That would be painful in the short term, but in the long term it would expedite the necessary shift out from China.

Italy, England, France, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Australia and dozens of others could also sue China in their national courts  — or the European Union courts for the European countries. Who knows how successful these might be, but they would keep the Chinese Communists on their heels and some would probably have success. We saw how the European Union ruled against Apple and Google in cases and that required payment from both U.S. companies as well as a change in how they operated in Europe. The CCP’s actions have been much more deleterious than anything Apple and Google did.

Again, it’s not suing the country of China, but the Communist Party, a non-sovereign organization. The lawsuits can also name individuals in China, which would include multiple leaders in the CCP.

This is just one path for holding China accountable, but one that would hit the CCP hard.

Congress can and should hold investigatory hearings that would form the basis for a radical shift in our relationship, policies and trade with China. This has to happen, and could mean a significant paradigm shift from how we have done business since Nixon.

The very worst result would be that there ends up being no accountability for the Chinese Communists, and the world just goes back to business as normal. That would embolden the tyrants in Beijing. They would take from this that they can get away with anything. And the entire world would pay the price.

Disgruntled “Whistleblower” In Charge Of BARDA Failed America. Twice

By Cathi Chamberlain

The pattern is getting old. Yet, people continue to believe whistleblowers who have derogatory information about President Trump with little or no evidence. In the past three years, too many have popped up coincidentally just when it looks like he’s gaining in popularity. It’s time we learned how to distinguish real whistleblowers from those designed purely to destroy a duly-elected President. This shouldn’t happen in America, no matter which party a President represents.

As I explained on April 21, the media reported the reassignment of Dr. Rick Bright and in protest, Bright hit back by hiring the same law firm that defended Christine Blasey Ford.

That’s no accident. As the media riled up yet another angry mob of misinformed Americans, the facts trickled out. And, they don’t favor Dr. Bright. Still, the newest shiny object was created by the left.”

It’s the same pattern the left has used repeatedly since Trump’s Day One in the Oval Office.

First, a crisis affecting our country is targeted. It could be natural-born such as the pandemic, or manufactured as was the Trump-Russia collusion scam.

Second, a left-leaning sympathizer like the Ukraine whistleblower is activated, preferably someone with a credible, high-level job who is in a position to cast aspersions on the Trump Administration.

Third, their “complaint” is leaked to the press, specifically the anti-Trump “fake news” media who peppers the public with spurious headlines, giving the story “legs.”.

Fourth, the Democrats feign outrage and set up an “investigation,” like impeachment, to focus the American people on Trump’s supposed failures.

Devastatingly for our country, most Americans are too busy, lazy, or naive to try to make sense of the original complaint. That’s because the charges are made intentionally convoluted by the left precisely to confuse us. It’s by design. But, it’s a pattern that we must recognize and break if our country is to survive its present politically-toxic condition.

The left’s end goal in these hard-to-fathom plots is to transform America to socialism. That is their stepping stone to globalism. We know that because the left has told those of us paying attention, and via their actions in concert with the UN. It would lead to an elite class of wealthy rulers determined to diminish the American exceptionalism that has led to enriching the lives of people worldwide. The effects would be disastrous for humanity. We cannot let that happen.

Dr. Bright had worked for BARDA, a key government agency influential in developing drugs and vaccines for COVID-19 and with massive funding power. His reassignment seemingly came out of nowhere. Or, did it? My research uncovered some interesting connect-the-dot scenarios.

Days before Dr. Bright’s transfer, for example, a press release was posted on Moderna’s website announcing a super-sized grant from BARDA. Moderna was the first company to announce COVID-19 vaccine production back in January. It also happens to be heavily funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a self-described globalist organization with a questionable vaccine safety record. A trusted source tells me that President Trump is no fan of Bill Gates, and vice versa.

Was there a connection between BARDA’s grant to Moderna under Dr. Bright’s direction, Trump’s distrust of the Gates Foundation, and the subsequent reassignment of Bright? Only time will tell. But it’s interesting to note that Bright was appointed by Obama on Nov. 15, 2016 — less than a week after Trump’s election. Coincidence?

Either way, just as Trump was getting the pandemic response seemingly under control, up pops whistleblower Dr. Bright, the newest manufactured crisis.

Not surprisingly, Bright’s claim found “legs” in left-leaning Politico, giving the claim credibility. The headline reads, “Ousted vaccine expert battles with Trump team over his abrupt dismissal.” It was meant to question Trump’s wisdom at losing such an “expert” at so critical a time. And, it worked.

With many Americans outraged, Democrats began yet another endless, mind-controlling investigation at taxpayer expense. Trump is not dividing America, as anti-Trumpers like to claim, these constant fabricated attacks against him are doing the dividing.

Before you think this is conspiracy talk, you may want to keep reading.

There have been three similar major “crises” precisely following this exact pattern since Trump’s election: the phony Trump-Russia collusion witch-hunt, the unfounded complaint lodged against Justice Brett Kavanaugh by Dr. Ford, and the original whistleblower’s biased interpretation of the President’s Ukraine phone call. Each “crisis” turned out to be fake. How do we know? Because once the uproars subsided, no charges remained against Trump. But, to the left, that doesn’t matter. Damage caused by the chaos was already done.

Saul Alinsky’s Tactic #1, “power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have,” is used by Democrats to confuse us and instill fear in their opponents’ minds. They want us to believe that Dr. Bright, for example, has a legitimate warning. By accomplishing that, their opponents suddenly have something real to fear. Thus, the American people, whether we realize it or not, become accomplices in the Democrats’ schemes merely by buying into their scams. That feeds new, costly, time-consuming investigations.

Democrats know if they can focus enough attention on Trump’s so-called failures, they’ve won merely by making him appear guilty. Plus, they divert attention from their own transgressions. It’s an illusion, but effective. Is it fair? To the left, this is war and they must win by any means necessary. It’s Alinsky-logic. They’ve been at it for decades.

Bright’s protestations that he is simply an altruistically-concerned, dedicated scientist just wanting to help humanity fall flat. We’ve learned now that instead of showing up at his new position to work on the emerging coronavirus fast-response team called “Operation Warp Speed,” he called in sick. Presumably he had a spike in blood pressure while dealing with the stress of it all. Yet, he continues to collect his $285,000 per year salary while “on vacation as he tries to straighten out his work situation.”

Listening to Bright’s testimony, one could easily be convinced that the world is coming to an end, and it’s all Trump’s fault. Terms like “dark winter,” “lost lives,” “no master plan,” and “ignored warnings” are meant to scare the American public and turn us against the President.

HHS Secretary Alex Azar has publicly and repeatedly denounced Bright’s complaints saying that everyone involved at HHS voiced similar well-known concerns, they just didn’t waste taxpayer money on what they could not change now. Rather, they’ve been busy working on solutions.

So, who is right?

In researching BARDA’s website to find out what their mission actually is, I found a “Message from the Director” page. It hasn’t, by the way, been updated since 2011 when it projected its goals for the coming five years. The then-Director claimed great success in the previous five years having developed “a robust product development pipeline for nearly all threats.”

Until Americans of both parties understand the game being played by the left and are willing to be honest, whistleblowers like Dr. Bright will continue to thrive, Trump will continue to be targeted, and the American people will be the biggest losers of all.

According to the message, great strides had been made. BARDA’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2016, at least, projected that their “mission over the next five years and beyond [is] to develop and provide medical countermeasures for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear threats, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases. The implementation measures to achieve these strategic goals include support of product advanced development, stockpile acquisition, manufacturing surge capacity infrastructure building, and product innovation. These medical countermeasures include vaccines, biological and small molecule therapeutics, antiviral drugs and antibiotics, diagnostics, respiratory devices, and other medical supplies.” If they could achieve all that, I’d say $285,000 is money well-spent for a Director.

If BARDA’s mission was to prepare the nation for “emerging infectious diseases” and the group was to develop and provide countermeasures such as “diagnostics,” “respiratory devices,” “medical supplies,” “stockpile acquisition,” and “manufacturing surge capacity infrastructures,” where the hell was Dr. Rick Bright, exactly, for the two years prior to the pandemic? More importantly, could this be the real reason Trump’s team got rid of him? He did nothing, and now is merely a disgruntled employee?

Conservatives say the left is always projecting what they’ve actually done wrong onto their opponents, blaming them for ineptness that doesn’t exist. It’s a deflection that works fairly well.

Was Dr. Bright himself responsible for incompetence leading to our country’s lack of pandemic preparedness? Given the facts now known, it certainly seems logical. Indeed, it appears that Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force has done more to accomplish BARDA’s “mission” in the past two months than Dr. Bright has accomplished in two years.

Trump’s tweet on the same day as Bright’s testimony demonstrates that, once again, our President is way ahead of the game. He wrote, “I don’t know the so-called Whistleblower Rick Bright, never met him or even heard of him, but to me he is a disgruntled employee, not liked or respected by people I spoke to and who, with his attitude, should no longer be working for our government!”

Judging from BARDA’s obvious failures under Dr. Bright’s watch, the President is probably right.

We should be grateful that Trump fights back without sugar-coated, politically-correct nuances. Our country is on the brink of collapse and the only way for certain people on both sides of the aisle to accept that is by cold, hard truth.

It is we, the people, who must break the pattern repeated over and over again by the left to shift blame onto President Trump for transgressions they themselves have committed. Their phony plots are exactly the reason our country is divided one against the other. And, it’s the left’s mission to keep it that way until Election Day 2020.

Until Americans of both parties understand the game being played by the left and are willing to be honest, whistleblowers like Dr. Bright will continue to thrive, Trump will continue to be targeted, and the American people will be the biggest losers of all.
