Border Mexico Truth

Lawless Mexico Kills 1,000 Times More Americans Than Terrorists Do

Rod Thomson

A series of major events in recent months have revealed just how lawless and uncivilized the northern provinces of Mexico have become. Since these form the actual border with the southern United States, this causes a direct threat and makes the case for the wall even more urgent.

The highest profile incident was the military-like strike by one of the Mexican cartels against American citizens traveling in a convoy just south of the American border, slaughtering 21 men, women and children.

But that was a single incident that got our attention because they were Americans. The reality is that this is life in the provinces of Northern Mexico, where the federal government only makes forays and local government and police are hopelessly corrupted by cartel money and threats. Honest politicians and police have very short lifespans, hence there are few.

An in-depth article by the Louisville Courier Journal, journalism the way it used to be done, focuses on the biggest cartel leader, but paints a portrait of an entire region that acts as a country within a country, with its own brutal rules that is devastating millions of Americans. It is an enemy of the United States through its operations, but operating with a sort of umbrella protection from attacks by the American military by technically being Mexico.

The Investigation estimates than since 2013, about 300,000 Americans have died directly from illegal drug addictions. And the vast majority of those drugs came from Mexico. About 300 Americans have been killed in terrorist attacks since 2013. That’s a 1,000 to 1 ratio.

The article tags Rubén “Nemesio” Oseguera Cervantes, also known as El Mencho, the leader of Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, better known as CJNG. He has a $10 million reward on his head and is on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Most Wanted list. But it would require a full-scale military operation to get him, and considering the cartel infiltration in the Mexican Army, that is remote. Perhaps a U.S. Seal Team could do it, but that would require approval of the Mexican government, also remote.

“A nine-month Courier Journal investigation reveals how CJNG’s reach has spread across the U.S. in the past five years, overwhelming cities and small towns with massive amounts of drugs.

“The investigation documented CJNG operations in at least 35 states and Puerto Rico, a sticky web that has snared struggling business owners, thousands of drug users and Mexican immigrants terrified to challenge cartel orders.”

So, El Mencho’s incredibly powerful and connected international drug syndicate is flooding the United States with thousands of kilos of methamphetamines, fentanyl, heroin and cocaine every year. This Mexican cartel alone smuggles at least 120 tons of high-purity meth and cocaine into the U.S. each year. This bottomless deluge of narcotics has created addictions at historic levels, causing heartache for millions and spiking the suicide rate.

The Courier Journal investigation reported, “The unending stream of narcotics has contributed to this country’s unprecedented addiction crisis, devastating families and killing more than 300,000 people since 2013.”

That is an enemy of the United States with damaging successes that terrorists around the globe can only dream of.

Uttam Dhillon, DEA’s acting administrator, calls CJNG’s rapid growth from the Atlantic to the Pacific in under 10 years “clear, present and growing danger.” Seems to understate it.

According to the Courier Journal investigation:

“The billion-dollar criminal organization has a large and disciplined army, control of extensive drug routes throughout the U.S., sophisticated money-laundering techniques and an elaborate digital terror campaign, federal drug agents say. Its extreme savagery in Mexico includes beheadings, public hangings, acid baths, even cannibalism. The cartel circulates these images of torture and execution on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites to spread fear and intimidation.”

This is precisely how terrorist organizations such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda operate.

The cartels have enormous resources and manpower, and control most of the border areas in some fashion. They can build intricate tunnels, use technology and attempt to smuggle drugs and people into the country in numerous ways.

Some Americans think this means that a wall is useless. What it actually means is that a wall is merely an essential first step in an ongoing war to secure our border from the predatory Mexican cartels that control the lands south of it and are, literally, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

The wall is a start. So are deportations.

On a small upbeat note, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency deported more than a quarter of a million illegal aliens from the United States in Fiscal Year 2019 (September 2018 through October 2019) including roughly 5,500 gang members. That’s a 20 percent increase over 2017.

But that, too, is only one of the multiple steps necessary if we are to regain control of our southern border and start reducing the staggering number of drug addiction deaths.

Bleeding Support In Shutdown Battle, Democrats Need Rebuttal Tonight

by Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

Tonight, the President of the United States will be addressing the nation regarding the issue of border security.

It is expected that the President will provide a defense of his tough stance on his demands to fund the wall. He will likely paint a dire picture of conditions south of the border. He will share with the country the challenges faced due to inadequate resources and the lack of a physical barrier.

In all likelihood the President’s message will make sense and will resonate with the American people who, although squeamish on government shutdowns, overwhelmingly demand that the federal government enforce our borders and ensure our safety and welfare.

In response, Democrats have asked the networks for an opportunity to rebut; an opportunity they will surely be given. But their request brings up two issues; one an inductive conclusion and the other an inescapable paradox.

The conclusion is that Democrats worry they are losing the war of words regarding border security. With every week that passes, the Democrats lose what they have always deployed as their greatest weapon regarding government shutdowns: shock value. Theirs is the tactic of equating a government shutdown with the end of the world. They do this, not only to paint the Republicans as evil, uncaring, and irresponsible, but also because to Democrats, the role of government is indispensable to life in society. Even a partial shutdown, for them, is tantamount to a cataclysmic natural disaster.

But as the weeks grind on, the American people continue to see that the partial government shutdown, by and large, is not a threat to their daily existence. People are continuing to get their healthcare. Their banks are still doing business. The military is still operating, and yes, the IRS is working on delivering those precious refund checks.

But despite the fading, fake cataclysm of the shutdown, the permanent truth of the inadequacies of our border’s security continues to shine. The problems south of the border continue to exist, and the multi-thousand-member caravans preparing to attempt to stroll into the United States continue to form.

Help us keep fighting for truth

The net effect is a nasty, rancid, and tumultuous loss for the Democrats, and Democrats know it. Add to their losing effort a presidential address on the matter from the Oval Office, and the result is potentially catastrophic to their indefensible cause. It is for this reason that Democratic leaders wish to speak to the American people tonight, bringing us to the second issue: how can they speak when they won’t even listen?

Democratic leaders, chief amongst these are Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have engaged in the highly obnoxious and potentially destructive strategy of not listening to their political opponents, particularly to those may have developed an expertise on the field. When border security agents appeared at the White House Press Room and discussed their first-hand accounts regarding the indispensable importance of a barrier to border security, the Democrats’ dismissive answer was simply to say that the agents were wrong. No facts to back them up; just the assertion.

And when President Trump invited Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen to a meeting with the President and leaders from both parties at the White House, Pelosi’s and Schumer’s response was to repeatedly interrupt her, and again, claim she was wrong.

So now, the two leaders who have recurrently demonstrated an unwillingness and incapacity to listen to opposing points of view want us to listen to them.

Why should we?

The fact is that I, as opposed to them, will listen to what they have to say. I will do this out of respect for our political process and because I recognize that our country has devolved to a state where we have refused to listen to each other, and Pelosi and Schumer have made themselves integral to the problem.

In the end, however, I am confident I and most Americans will side with the President for, amongst other reasons, his opponents’ demonstrated reluctance to learn from what the President and those charged with working directly on the issue of border security have to say.

Despite their appearance tonight to rebut the President, I and most Americans will likely conclude that Pelosi and Schumer are part of the problem; not the solution.

Border Democrats Schumer Truth

Schumer Is Lying About Democrats’ Border Security

by Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

On Nov. 27, Sen. Chuck Schumer stood in the Capitol before a crowd of reporters and reassured them that Democrats favor border security. Sadly, the overwhelming evidence points to the contrary. And he knows it. But the obvious evidence is never brought out in media coverage.

Democrats have long been engaged in a battle to dismantle America’s border defenses. On Nov. 8, 1971, Berkeley, California became the first city in the United States to offer itself up as a sanctuary city. Many municipalities followed in the 1980s such that today, a host of local jurisdictions are refusing to cooperate with ICE.  (To access ICE’s list of sanctuary jurisdictions click here.)

To a tee, these municipalities are Democrat controlled, and in 2017, California, a Democratic stronghold, became the first and still only sanctuary state.

As we know, imparting sanctuary status upon a jurisdiction serves to protect the illegal inhabitant from detainment by ICE, as the jurisdiction will not cooperate with such detainers. Such a permissive policy serves as a magnet for illegal immigrants who stand a significantly lower chance of being turned over to federal authorities should they break the law.

Democrats have also proclaimed their support for open borders — the antithesis of a secure border. Ignorantly, Democrats have repeatedly argued that the unencumbered flow of people across the border, including that of the United States, is a human right and should be allowed as a matter of justice. They voice disdain at the Trump Administration’s reticence in cooperating with the United Nation’s global migration pact. Specifically, in 2017, when President Trump said he would not be sending American representatives to the United Nations’ conference on migration in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Democrats attacked him over the decision.

It’s pretty self-evident, but a no-borders policy by the United States stands in direct opposition to efforts at securing America’s borders.

In 2018, when the caravan was headed north to America’s southern border, Democrat elements denied the caravan’s existence maintaining that it was a fabricated problem used by President Trump only for political expediency. Today, these are the same Democrats decrying the horrible conditions of these migrants in the hopes that they are given free passage into the United States.

Stand with us

With few exceptions, the party leading the charge to maximize the standing for asylum seekers to gain legal entry into the United States is the Democratic Party. The party that dismisses the injustice of having those same asylum seekers enter the United States, remain here for over three years before their case is evaluated by an immigration judge, and then not show up for the hearing, is the Democrat Party.

The Democrats support catch and release and want to abolish ICE — literally our enforcement arm for border security. They oppose allocating $5.7 billion of the national, multi-trillion dollar budget to the construction of a wall at our southern borders despite the fact that the President has compromised on his initial ask of more than $20 billion and despite the fact that the difference between the two parties is $3.3 billion. And when Schumer repeatedly goes to the airwaves and says that the President will never get his wall despite risking a government shutdown, it is clear that Schumer could not care less about border security.

Adding to the evidence of their contempt for border security is the Democrats’ ire towards any attempt at keeping illegal immigrants out of the United States and their repeated misrepresentations of both the demographics of the problem and America’s justifiable response to it.

And let’s not forget, it is the Democrat Party that remains silent when an illegal immigrant guns down an American citizen while ignoring the grave and unpalatable injustice of having had that illegal immigrant previously released by a sanctuary jurisdiction.

No. Despite Schumer’s reassurances, the Democrats are not in the least bit interested in border security. They have never made it a driving issue for their party nor have they supported it actively in their daily undertakings. Schumer’s claim to the contrary represents a mere, disingenuous capitulation to the fact that the majority of Americans find controlling our borders fundamentally important to our security, our economy, and our safety.

Sadly, and despite the fact that every major American political party should be lock-step on this issue, if an American citizen values border security (and the rule of law for that matter) he or she cannot stand with the Democrats despite the Schumer’s fake assurances.

Border Congress Immigration Trump Truth

President Trump: Get Wall Funding Or Shut Down That Government!

By Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

Once again, we find ourselves in the midst of a political game of chicken between competing views for the future of our country. And once again, the ones who are stuck in the middle are the American people.

This time, the battle of wills is over the funding of the wall to our southern border. President Trump wants $5 billion allocated to the wall’s construction. The Democrats, on the other hand, have said they are willing to commit $1.6 billion to the wall, and not a penny more.

In the meantime, the nation is being exposed to the reality of an immigration crisis Democrats and the mainstream media said before the election did not exist, and now vainly argue is due to the President’s new policies on immigration.

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear; the only reason we find ourselves in the midst of an immigration crisis of this magnitude is because of the decades of ineptitude and incompetence by Congress in not providing the resources and personnel needed to definitively seal the border.

Enter President Donald J. Trump. President Trump has been one of the few ferocious advocates for border control. One of his central and most important planks to his platform is building the border wall and the definitive eradication of illegal immigration. In fact, a Harvard/Harris poll from Aug. 1 showed that 76% of the American people want border security, and with the impact of the images and goings-on related to the Central American caravan, that number has likely crept up even higher.

Amazingly, the Republican members of Congress who are now entering the waning days of their control of all three steeples of power do not seem to have the resolve to push a $5 billion allocation for border wall funding to the president’s desk. The purported reasons are as varied as they are hollow. We can’t afford it they say. Walls are a terrible way to maintain security, and there are other, more effective ways of securing our border.

No one is saying that the border wall should be built at the expense of not funding other complementary measures of promoting border security. Quite the opposite. Congress should be funding every possible avenue designed to help ensure the security and safety of America’s borders. Why the Republican-led Congress cannot get a bill to the president’s desk designing and funding a permanent, virtually impenetrable solution for our border security inclusive of the construction of an effective wall against southern migrants defies reality.

Help Us Keep Telling The Truth

In the meantime, President Trump, who is one of the few who understands the gravity of this situation, has demonstrated his resolve to see the implementation of effective border security policy by expressing his willingness shutdown the government if the wall is not funded. The response by some has been to dare him to do it.

Just like during the Obama administration, opponents and members of the swamp have predicted that the earth will end and the skies will rain down fire and fury if a portion of the federal government is allowed to go unfunded even for 10 minutes. Unfortunately for the doomsayers, we have already seen that the negative effects of shutting down the federal government are not that terrible. As a matter of fact, about the most visible consequence of the last shutdown was President Obama’s vengeful closure of the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C., at the same time that a group of Honor Flight participants arrived to be honored for their incredible, patriotic service during World War II.

Recognizing that the consequences of a government shutdown are not as harrowing as the swamp and the mainstream media would like us to believe, the next fear-mongering argument to be made is the threat of a political meltdown. Here again, the doomsayers are wrong.

First, let us recall that the one who closed the government during the Obama era was the Republican Congress. If anything, even if we were to accept the doomsayers’ political fallout prediction, it was Congress that lost against the President, a fact that actually favors President Trump.

Like Us On Facebook

Moreover, as opposed to the shutdown during the Obama administration where the issue was spending, the overwhelming majority of the American public side with the President on immigration reform — and enthusiastically so. No reasonable observer can cast aspersions on the President’s position on immigration and the urgency with which the issue needs to be definitively resolved. If a confrontation were to take place, it is the President who is in the position of strength on this issue and positioned to gain.

President Trump is right on immigration, and he should demand cooperation from the Congress, even if enforcing his demand results in a government shutdown. In the end, he will win, and more importantly, so will the American people.

Border Immigration Trump Truth

It’s Time For America To Go On The Offensive On Immigration

by Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D.

Mine is a love-hate relationship with Geraldo Rivera. I find him comical and light-hearted most of the time. But then he goes off and says the stupidest things; so dumb it makes Juan Williams look professorial.

In particular, Geraldo Rivera tends to fall off the deep end when he speaks of immigration, and yesterday was no exception. In an article expressing his proposal at resolving the immigration crisis, Geraldo wrote, “In exchange for leniency and a path to citizenship for long-time undocumented residents already in this country — who were brought to the U.S. as children by their parents — pro-immigration advocates, like me, should announce our support for President Trump’s border wall. It will help restore order along the southern border, and mitigate the hysteria currently gripping the national immigration debate and tainting the mid-term elections.”

Never mind that the position of immigration advocates regarding the President of the United States has no bearing on the state of affairs in Central America; the notion that continued opposition to President Trump’s border wall will have any effect on his resolve to pursue it is also ill-conceived. Moreover, it is increasingly clear to most Americans that advocating for an open border is an absurd position that only serves to work against the interests of the United States and its citizens.

But included in Geraldo’s article is a statement that crosses the border between political discourse and unsubstantiated, discriminatory speech. Specifically, Geraldo wrote, “It is, in my opinion, fear of our nation being over-run by poor, hungry, brown people in sufficient numbers to change our basic national character, which motivates most critics of this caravan and, more broadly, illegal immigration.”

I can confidently speak not only for my position, but also for that of anyone I have spoken to regarding border protection, and I have been discussing this issue a heck of a lot, that in absolutely no case has anyone factored the color of one’s skin or the nationality of those crossing illegally in the analysis of immigration. Quite the opposite; the only topics that keep coming up are our national sovereignty, our economy, and our national security. And for me, the most important of these is our national sovereignty.

So, in response, let me tell share with you my proposal on how to address this issue.

First, the necessity of building the wall, at this point, is a foregone conclusion. With the chaos we are witnessing to the south of us, there is no valid argument against it to be made. Build the wall, and build it now!

Second, the more immediate question is what to do about the thousands of individuals who are heading to our southern border at this moment. Here, I think the United States is making a big mistake in playing defense. Like prevent defense in football, the United States is sitting at the end zone waiting for its opponent to arrive in the hope that once it gets there it will be able to stop it, or the clock will run out. But there is not clock on the massive caravan coming our way, nor the one forming behind it.

I say, the United States needs to go on offense.

The United States needs to coordinate an affirmative effort with Mexico to dissuade the “dissidents” from proceeding. The effort should begin with the airdropping of leaflets, in Spanish, letting the migrants know that they are continuing their journey at their own peril and that if they should choose to continue, they will be stopped, by force if necessary, at the border. Helicopters would deliver the same message using megaphones, urging them to turn back. Included in this message is the offer to have those wishing to turn back transported to their home country, free of charge.

Next, in a coordinated exercise with Mexico, the United States should begin crowd disbursement activities. This will help to further diminish the size of the crowd eventually confronting our officers at the border. The topic of forcibly repatriating those who remain while still in Mexico should also be discussed with Mexican officials. If amenable, the United States should engage with Mexico in joint exercises accomplishing this end.

Those arriving at the border despite all these civil obstacles are more likely than not eager to engage in nefarious activities. These will be engaged, forcefully if necessary, at the border, and repelled.

Having regained control in the short run, and while building the wall, the United States would then have to evaluate the issues that are allowing for an appetite for emigration in the first place. We already know these include the many economic and governmental challenges plaguing Central American countries. The United States should immediately begin a mutually beneficial, long-term strategy aimed at reforming Central America with the goal of improving living conditions while benefiting the American economy and trade. Unquestionably, if these nations partner up, the results can be lucrative for each; and for their citizens.

As opposed to empty promises of support for the President, this plan will offer short-term control and long-term stability, making it much more worthy of pursuit.

And that, Geraldo, is an actual proposal.

Trump’s Immigration Goals Mirror Eisenhower’s: Jobs And Security

By Peter B. Gemma

President Trump has invoked President Dwight Eisenhower when explaining his administration’s programs that take on the crises of illegal immigration: “Dwight Eisenhower, was a great president – people liked him. He moved a 1.5 million illegal immigrants out of this country – moved them just beyond the border. They came back. He moved them again beyond the border, they came back. He didn’t like it. He moved them way south and they never came back.”

The economy of 60 years ago is not what it is today. The country was downshifting from World War II arms spending and faced a huge influx of returning veterans seeking jobs. To keep the nation’s fiscal house in order, President Eisenhower focused on creating a balanced federal budget.

As part of Ike’s economic equations, he knew that illegal immigration was an important factor.

On March 28, 1951, the New York Times observed (using what is now politically incorrect lingo): “The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican ‘wetbacks,’ to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government.”

Two months later, the Los Angeles Times reported that 21,000 Mexican nationals had “flooded across Mexican border into California during April” and complained about the overworked, understaffed border patrolmen and “the endless wave of line jumpers, unprecedented in the nation’s history.”

During World War II, with so many Americans in the armed services, Mexicans illegally (and legally) entered the U.S. to take advantage of employment opportunities, especially as agricultural laborers. The federal government had created the Bracero program (Spanish for “manual laborer”), which brought Mexicans into the United States to fill jobs that soldiers had left behind. Those foreign workers were in the U.S. legally, but the government often looked the other way when companies illegally brought more cheap labor over the border.

By 1945, there were some two million illegal aliens living in California, Arizona, and Texas. This massive underground workforce had a devastating impact on the wages of American workers and returning war veterans looking for jobs.

Herbert Brownell, Eisenhower’s first attorney general, said in an interview that the president had a sense of urgency about illegal immigration when he took office. John Dillin, writing for the Christian Science Monitor, told Brownell’s story:

Join Our Fight Pro-American Values

‘America was faced with a breakdown in law enforcement on a very large scale,’ Mr. Brownell said. ‘Hundreds of thousands were coming in from Mexico [every year] without restraint. Although an on-and-off guest-worker program for Mexicans was operating at the time, farmers and ranchers in the Southwest had become dependent on an additional low-cost, docile, illegal labor force of up to three million mostly Mexican, laborers.’

Eisenhower, concerned about all the tangential issues due to the influx of illegal aliens, including corruption that resulted from the profits of the underground labor market, took decisive action. First, he cancelled the Bracero agreement and then appointed General Joseph “Jumpin’ Joe” Swing, who commanded the 11th Airborne Division during the campaign to liberate the Philippines, to head the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

However, like today, there was an open borders lobby at work: agribusiness and other employers of unskilled labor gained the favor of influential politicians, including Senators Lyndon Johnson of Texas and Pat McCarran Nevada, who led the fight against strong border enforcement on Capitol Hill.

Today, the open borders lobby is more pervasive: for example, the National Immigration Forum’s chairman is John Gay of the National Restaurant Association, and that group’s board members include Craig Regelbrugge, representing the American Nursery and Landscape Association, and Randal K. Johnson of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce — all special interests in search of cheap labor. Amnesty advocates also include Sen. Lindsey Graham, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

General Swing’s close connections to President Eisenhower protected him and the Border Patrol from meddling by powerful political and corporate interests. With the close cooperation of the Eisenhower Justice Department, Swing launched what was popularly known as “Operation Wetback.”

Like Us On Facebook

With only 1,075 Border Patrol agents, supported by municipal, county, state, and the military, a comprehensive operation to identify and apprehend all illegal immigrants was undertaken.

According to the Texas Historical Association, on the first day of the operation 4,800 illegal aliens were apprehended. The roundup began in California and Arizona because there was less political resistance. Some 750 agents set a goal of 1,000 arrests a day, but in less than two weeks more than 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Another 488,000 had fled the country.

Unlike the Eisenhower era, protecting the 1,954-mile Mexico-U.S. border, has now become more than an economic issue — it is key to the war on terrorism. Retired Admiral James Lyons, who was senior U.S. military representative to the United Nations, has observed: “Fixing our porous borders is one of combating the threat of terrorism that America faces. In the various efforts to reform the U.S. immigration system, often overlooked in the debate is its impact on national security.”

President Eisenhower’s initiatives were designed to ensure Mexicans caught here illegally were not released at the border, where they could easily re-enter the U.S. The policy was to hire buses and trains to take illegal aliens deep within Mexico before being set free. Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships which ferried the aliens to Vera Cruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles south.

Pundit Pat Buchanan summed up the Eisenhower immigration policy this way:

“During President Eisenhower’s first term, 60 years ago, the U.S. faced an invasion across its southern border. Illegal aliens had been coming since World War II. But, suddenly, the number was over one million. Crime was rising in Texas. The illegals were taking the jobs of U.S. farm workers…Eisenhower was a no-nonsense president…as for the deportation of the Mexicans, they had broken in, they did not belong here, and they were going back. End of discussion.”

Trump faces more severe challenges than Eisenhower, but his goals are the same: protecting the American worker and American national security.

Border Immigration Obama Truth

REWIND: When Obama Created A Humanitarian Crisis

Rod Thomson

When conservatarian talk show host Glenn Beck, accompanied by Sen. Ted Cruz, took soccer balls and teddy bears to the waves of children illegally swamping the southern U.S. border, conservatives were somewhat conflicted.

Many appreciated the compassion but sharply criticized the move for potentially adding to the problem by making it more attractive for more children to come (be sent) which would swell the problem. Many liberals considered it a cheap publicity stunt. The media yawned and barely covered it except to question Beck’s motives.

The year was 2014. Barack Obama bestrode the halls of the White House. And U.S. policy at the border was chaotic at best. But Beck didn’t create the situation. He responded to it. The Obama Administration’s lax enforcement of national laws and insinuations of a warm welcome had prompted the humanitarian crisis of tens of thousands of Central American children stacking up at the border.

Of course, as has been the case in recent years, Mexico was a bad actor in this. As this terrible neighbor is doing today, it created a secure path for the children to be ushered straight through from their decrepit and corrupt countries to be dumped at America’s steps.

The media covered the crisis as a humanitarian one that just sort of arose, and put the Obama administration in a tough spot. How would they deal with it? But this did not simply happen like a hurricane or tornado. It was man-made in Central America, Mexico and Washington, D.C. — exactly like the current family separation issue, except add in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals mandating that families cannot be kept together.

About 18 months before this, President Obama unconstitutionally, and probably illegally, granted blanket amnesty to about 800,000 mostly Central Americans who came to the country illegally. He did not follow the law or enforce the law. He simply bypassed it. Further, he began releasing illegal aliens into the interior of the country.

Please Help Our Fight For American Values

News of changes to American border policies travel like wildfire through Mexico and Central America.

“One of the consequences we’re seeing on the border is a humanitarian crisis that is a direct consequence of Obama’s lawlessness,” Cruz said at the time. He was making the totally plausible case that by granting amnesty to such large numbers of illegal aliens and relaxing border enforcement, Obama sent a message throughout Central America that precipitated a “change in behavior” — sending children northward.

Cruz was not alone. Many Republicans and Americans saw in the President’s actions an open invitation to all aspiring illegal aliens. So did the human-trafficking cartels and coyotes who run people across the border. So did the Mexican government that created the corridor for passage as long as they did not stop in Mexico. They would be America’s problem — just like Mexico’s poor.

The result was the 2014 humanitarian crisis on the border that captured considerable attention without assigning any substantial blame to Obama.

Yet the conditions that resulted from Obama’s actions were arguably much worse than the conditions in which children were separated from their families and placed in the care of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Like Us On Facebook

But the media did not blame Obama for the human suffering and misery. He was not called a cruel animal, racist and xenophobe. No mass protests erupted. No groups targeted his staff in restaurants, at movies or other public places. No Republican Congressmen urged political opponents to harass Obama staffers wherever they found them.

Trump has played his role in the poison in our society right now, but it is not the major one. Trump is in many ways a response to the slow-drip poison injected by a deeply agenda-driven media that alternately lectured or vilified conservative, traditional Americans and ran interference for the endless scandals throughout the Obama administration. It’s a response to the ceaseless demonstrations and protests against traditional America, and Republicans’ inability or unwillingness to fight back.

It’s worth remembering Obama’s role in generating a full-scale crisis — and the lack of responsibility attached to him.
