As Democrats continue to tumble off the radical leftist cliff, we need to be real about something regarding President Trump, and it is going to tick off some readers. But it could be a problem for 2020, when he stands again between America as the greatest nation earth and America becoming a leftist Slough of Despond.

His predilection for shooting from the hip, particularly on Twitter, may be the only thing that can save the Democrats from their fanatical base of anti-American extremists and their continuous in-fighting and put one of them in the White House, and maybe the Senate President’s chair.

This was made clear on Sunday when a series of very ill-advised tweets from Trump totally shifted attention away from the culmination of the inglorious Democrats’ fratricide and immigration debacle that was coming to a head. This was a massive unforced error by Trump and in a very close election — which 2020 will be — this predilection could be disastrous. He’s got to have the Twitter account to bypass the opposition media looking to misrepresent him at every turn. Those who say he should stop tweeting are wrong.  But he needs to filter the tweets. And let’s be honest. He’s got a lot of strong points, but that ain’t one.

His most ardent supporters love unfiltered, fists flying Trump. I get it. I really do. To have a Republican truly fighting back for America is sooooo refreshing. But swing voters who invariably decide elections don’t. Really don’t. And that matters.

Here’s the context. After a week of escalating shots at each other, with the radical progressives such as AOC and Ayanna Pressley whipping out that old, tattered race card against Nancy Pelosi and, of all groups, the Congressional Black Caucus, with the violent move against a federal facility in Colorado that included defacing the American flag and raising the Mexican flag over the U.S. facility, with policies that in action are de facto open border policies, with Democrats in total meltdown and even one as experienced as Pelosi unable to reign in the radicals, all we on the not crazy left needed to do was sit back and watch. I wrote about this just yesterday. Democrats were coming unglued.

Yesterday seems like ancient history now, because Trump just had to tweet. This is where Trump’s frustration and unwillingness to filter his Twitter account betrayed him like the One Ring in Lord of the Rings. Remember, even the media could not cover for the Democrats’ radical position on immigration, one that is very unpopular with Americans. It was actually getting news coverage.

But then, as Democrats were blowing up and a Mexican flag was flying over a U.S. facility in Colorado, Trump hit send on three consecutive tweets that read:

“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!”

When I read: “ Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” I just groaned. Because in a flash, I knew that he had just dropped tanker loads of gasoline into the ongoing fire that he is racist (I don’t think he is) and just as bad, he gave the media the out to totally shift away from the Democrat radicalism roiling the party, and to whether Trump is a racist. That was the news coverage this morning and today. It should have been Democrats’ insanity, instead it was Trump’s “racism.” Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

His tweet was so terribly unneeded, badly timed and badly worded. Trump is not stupid as his critics claim, but when he fires out in frustration, particularly, his tweets can be. I think this was born of frustration with the likes of terrible Congressmember Ilhan Omar, who this country literally rescued from a terrible Somali refugee camp in Kenya because her home country was and remains just horrid, who we took in and educated and provided health care, who we made a citizen that gained full rights to the point of being elected to Congress. And this ingrate of a human basically gives the middle finger to Americans at every opportunity — she is one long diatribe about everything she thinks is wrong with America and how put upon she is! This, from a woman refugee from Somalia that this country rescued! Despicable.

It is galling to see the level of ingratitude baked along side the anti-semitism and racism percolating in her. The same goes for her cadre of whiny, attention-seeking ingrates, the fresh face caucus the media loves that is making Pelosi’s life miserable.

The easiest thing in the world is to let Americans’ gall and anger be aimed at those so-deserving Democrats.

But here’s the thing. The worst part is not really that he did it, but that it is now painfully clear he will keep doing it. By next year at this time, the Democrat nominee may well be locked into some truly untenable positions. The economy may well be still very strong. There may be peace in the world. But the election will be close. And this sort of thing may be just the lifeline that Democrats will need. My fear is that Trump will give it to them. I wrote yesterday at The Revolutionary Act about how Democrats were writing GOP ads for next year. But then Trump does the same thing for Democrats. This is really frustrating to watch, because if you just go policy by policy, Trump and the GOP are crushing Democrats.

I was at a party Sunday night talking to a guy who supports Trump as president but said someone needs to take his Twitter away from him. He sees the problem. But I disagreed, saying it is the only way to get past the dishonest, opposition media filter. He has to have it. He needs the filter to be on himself. And I don’t see that happening. And it could result in a tragedy for the country, because he is the one standing between America and the radicals ready to drive the country into the abyss.

This is so mind-numbingly elitist. What you are saying is that you and “those happy few” who can see beyond the tweets will still support Trump, but that unwashed masses of others, will succumb, and join the other side. Let him tweet all he wants, and fire up his base. He is supposed to be nice to traitors like the Squad?

Please, please stop being a lace-curtain (aka Country Club) Republican. In case you haven’t noticed, decorum does not exist anymore, so being one-sided about it is feckless and effeminate. Trump needs to place nice with the “Some people did something” crowd?

Meanwhile, “respectable” Joe Biden says of the healthcare plan he is touting: “If you like your private insurance, you can keep your private insurance.” Yep, they’re using that big lie once again.

Have you ever read this blog? Did you actually read this article? I tore up the “squad” and do so on a regular basis. Be nice? Good grief. Your description of me and the post as laughable and pedantic.

Stop trying to put everyone in the world into one of two boxes. That’s childish. It’s not the great unwashed, it’s the great uninformed middle, those people who can vote for Gore one cycle, W. the next cycle, Obama the next one and so on. It’s who Rush calls low-information voters. But maybe you think he’s country club Republican, too.

The point is for Trump to win in 2020.

        Dear Rod–

No more Marquis of Queensberry rules. Good grief—that’s why Republicans lose! Heck, that’s why Joe Crowley lost to AOC. A few months ago, Crowley said that he had stuff on her, but didn’t use it. But, he can hold his head high. He kept up the decorum.

Are you really concerned about what these four advocates of baby-killing really think?

Of course not. They’re anti-American. I’m concerned what the middle swing voters think, because elections can turn on them. And they don’t know policies and outcomes like we do. They vote viscerally. emotionally.

If these women didn’t already use their heritages as a political bludgeon, you might have a point, Rod. This is fair game and its long overdue to use their own bludgeoning tools against them. The reaction by the left and some on the right is as predictable as the day is long, the left yells racist, which might as well be doodiehead for all I’ve seen for the better part of ten years. The right has two reactions, either a cheer by those whose speech has been long oppressed by the left for decades and have had enough, or a whimper by oh, what will the press or the left think?

who cares? they dont care what we think, why should we give one rats iota about them?

just because the left uses race as a bludgeoning tool politically doesnt mean the right should? who the hell do you think you’re kidding? I have no anger towards my brothers and sisters of a different color, but if you use that color to try and silence me politically, you will get what you give, that’s just how it is.

    toughen up, Rod.

It’s not about me. It’s about winning the low-information swing voters. It’s about winning in 2020.

I believe President Trump won those same low-information voters in 2016. How? By being Trump. If you really look at the environment he has to govern within, no matter what he does or says will play well with the media. They will excoriate him for the slightest thing. If he stays silent and lets these vacuous idiots spew their vitriol unimpeded, the low-info types will think that he’s not what they originally voted for…he’s the same old ‘play it nice’ Republican. But he’s not. He knows that if he tosses out the bait, the progressives will take it and run, aided by the media. He’ll just let them until he’s ready to set the hook.

Bingo. This thinking is so 2015. Trump’s Twitter account is the ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN/MSNBC of Trumpism. It is talking points to his followers. He is confronting the NEW reality: a Democrat Party that is 2/3rds non-white and now openly anti-white, culturally Marxist and engaging in race warfare. The destiny that they want to impose on the USA is now in play withing their 40% of the US population. Kicking that Beehive will have one effect: making more white people recognize the collapse of the Democrat Party and flee from it.

Exposing the elitist nature of the upper echelon of the DNC, with Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Feinstein, et al. a bunch of dying old Whites, and radical 2nd rate nitwits all out to take over, with no plan except to make ‘Whitey’ pay, is the key to Trump’s 2020 victory.

If anyone actually read the post, I specifically said he has to keep and use his Twitter account to get around the opposition media. I *just wrote that.* Goodness! But that doesn’t mean that everything he tweets is gold or good politics for 2020. Sometimes he acts like the rest of us, get’s pissed off and the four horsewomen of the apocalypse and fires off a tweet. Do you think its possible he can make a mistake?

Of course he can make a mistake. In this case, the wordsmithing could have been better, but this is Twitter, not a polished work. Gut-level, and the more the elites hate it, the better for his campaign.

Wow! you’ve got a lot of comments on this one.

Rod, you maybe right on this it’s your field of expertise, but we have caught CNN hiring actors to create a fake protest that they could then report on. So my feeling is that if they want to avoid reporting on the DEMs support of Antifa or illegal immigrants they will make something up.

Is there really any hope that MSM will become a news reporting organization in our lifetime?

No. I can see no way they recover because they have so changed the definition of journalism that they see nothing off in how they practice it.
